Once again my blogging has been sparse. Once again I apologize. Once again I promise to be more consistent (hopefully this one is not an empty one). I’ve started reading through 1 Peter. There are many words/phrases that jumped out of chapter one and smacked me in the head today.
Things like:
- “living hope” - It says we are born into a “living” hope. That has great implications. It means this hope we have in Jesus is alive! It is active. It is current. It means it has and produces benefits for today. So believer, be alive in this hope. Stop walking around like a corpse. Live and breath the possibilities that are now yours because of the power of His Spirit!
- “be holy in all you do” – We must approach every moment as opportunity to either demonstrate or destroy our integrity. At work or at play, we must reflect the character of Christ.
- “the empty way of life” – A life not driven or motivated by the purposes of God will always leave us empty. Pursuing God is the only pathway to significance.
